After checking in at your centrally located four-star hotel, the evening takes you to Ekeberg, one of Oslo’s most beautiful viewpoints.

18:30 : Private transfer to Ekeberg Restaurant.

Set above the city, the restaurant offers panoramic views across Oslo and the fjord — the perfect setting for the first evening of the journey.

19:00 : Welcome dinner.

Oslo

DAY 2, Sunday, 27 September / Into the Arctic

After breakfast, leave the city behind and begin the journey north.

09:30 - Walk to Oslo Central Station and take the airport train to Oslo Airport.

11:45 - Flight from Oslo to Longyearbyen, Svalbard with Norwegian.

14:45 - Arrival in Longyearbyen.

The transition is remarkable. Within a few hours, the architecture and urban rhythm of Oslo give way to mountains, glaciers and vast Arctic landscapes.

Longyearbyen

Transfer to the hotell.

16:30 - Arctic boat journey.
Surrounded by magnificent landscapes, we visit places with cultural monuments from Norwegian and Soviet mining operations. On this 3-hour trip, you will see and learn a lot about Svalbard.

We will sail close to the bird cliffs of Diabasodden or Fuglefjellet, where the birdlife is extra vivid! With some luck, a whale or two may also appear by the boat; belugas especially thrive in Isfjorden and Adventfjorden during the summer months. If we have time, and if the weather conditions allow, we go ashore at Hiorthamn, just across the fjord from Longyearbyen. Here, there was coal mining activity between 1917 and 1921, and there is a lot of interesting history in the mountains and buildings.

Boat trip

20.30 - Dinner

DAY 3, Monday, 28 September / Svalbard: Science, Survival & the Future

Today offers a closer look at why Svalbard is far more than a remote Arctic destination.

Visit SvalSat, one of the world’s northernmost satellite ground stations, and discover how this isolated location contributes to global satellite communication, research and technology.

SvalSat

Continue to the Svalbard Global Seed Vault, one of the most remarkable facilities on Earth. Hidden inside a mountain, the vault safeguards seeds from around the world — creating a form of insurance for humanity’s agricultural future.

Lunch. Lunch is accompanied by a curated conversation, creating an opportunity to explore the ideas, people and stories behind life and work in the High Arctic.

Afternoon -Time to explore Longyearbyen at your own pace. Browse local shops, discover the small Arctic settlement or simply enjoy some time surrounded by the extraordinary landscape.

18:00 - Transfer to Longyearbyen Airport.

19:45 - Flight to Oslo with SAS Airlines.

22:40 - Arrival in Oslo, followed by the train to Oslo Central Station.

DAY 4, Tuesday, 29 September / Oslo, Business & Nordic Life

Today, the journey moves from the Arctic back into the heart of Norwegian society.

09:30 - Begin the morning on foot, walking through central Oslo towards the Norwegian Parliament.

Along the way, discover some of the capital’s most significant landmarks and gain a sense of how Norway’s historic centre meets its contemporary identity.

10:15 - Visit to the Norwegian Parliament.

12:00 - Visit to the Norwegian Shipowners’ Association.

13:30 - Lunch

Oslo

16:00 - Free time. Explore Oslo independently, visit a museum, enjoy the waterfront or simply take time to experience the city.

17:00 - Optional floating sauna experience at KOK. Located directly opposite the Oslo Opera House, KOK offers a distinctly Norwegian way to slow down — combining the traditional sauna experience with the waters of Oslo Fjord.

19:30 - Farewell dinner.

An opportunity to gather one final time and reflect on a journey that has taken you from the centre of Oslo to one of the most remote inhabited places in the world.

DAY 5, Wednesday, 30 September / Departure

The journey comes to an end in Oslo.

Departure from the hotel and onward travel.

A Journey Beyond the Expected.

From a dinner overlooking Oslo to a boat journey through Arctic waters. From the Norwegian Parliament to a seed vault hidden inside a mountain. From contemporary Nordic life to one of the most remote corners of the world.

Oslo & Svalbard is an invitation to experience Norway through its contrasts — its people, ideas, landscapes and remarkable relationship with the Arctic.
